Research & Developement
We spend about 3 % of annual sales on research and development. We have highly motivated and educated staff with long experience in the field of biocides. The entire R&D department is certified in accordance to ISO 9001. LANXESS as an international research based company, active in chemicals intermediates, performance chemicals, performance plastics and performance rubber, gives excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange of information and spin-off developments.
Facilities
Leverkusen, Germany
The chemical R&D activities are centered in our Leverkusen headquarters. Our synthesis labs are located in a special research building, equiped for effective synthesis, automated high throughput synthesis and process development. The development of formulations is carried out in Uerdingen or in a special formulation laboratory in Leverkusen. In a separate pilot plant area upscaling from laboratory trials up to production scale is possible. Process controlled vessels ranging from 50 liters to 5.000 liters are available.
Uerdingen, Germany
The microbiological R&D activities and the development of formulations are located and integrated in our technical marketing group in Uerdingen. The whole microbiological product development from screening to formulation is possible in our specialised laboratories for screening, technical preservation, wood protection, disinfection/cosmetics and formulation.
