Environmental Protection & Safety

Comprehensive environmental protection, maximum safety, high product quality and profitability are all equally important objectives at LANXESS Material Protection. Our bulk products and active ingredients are specially designed for industrial and professional applications and uses, however, subsequent consumer protection has been taken extensively into account where exposure from product residues might occur.

In the business unit, the environmental and safety aspects of a product are critically examined for the entire life of the product. Excluding the risk of damage to the health of users and consumers is of paramount importance. In parallel with the biological tests against harmful microorganisms, toxicological and ecotoxicological investigations are carried out to identify and minimize and if possible exclude all conceivable negative effects on human health and the environment. _Handling of Chemicals or in more detail and product-related in our safety data sheets which are available for all of our products in the most common languages. Specialist technical advice and comprehensive information packages on the most cost effective dosing concentrations is provided for all of our compounds and formulations taking into account environmental demands and following the general recommendation: "as much as necessary, as little as possible".

All subsidiaries worldwide of the future company LANXESS are subject to the same safety standards as the parent company in Germany. Success in the areas of safety and
_environmental protection demands that all employees behave in a dedicated, knowledgeable and responsible manner in accordance with the international principles of "Responsible Care." Our employees are specially trained in these principles. Product stewardship does not end at our factory gate. So the disposal of packaging product also comes within our scope of responsibility. Special Guidelines and information which can be found in chapter 13 of the safety data sheet, state how, for example, empty containers that have been well rinsed out can be discarded in industrial waste or can be taken to collection sites for recycling.
